Many challenges to be faced in coming days: Quader

There is a conspiracy against the Awami League, against the country. There are many challenges ahead, dealing with these is now the big challenge, said Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today.
“The communal forces carried out simultaneous bombings across the country, creating instability in the country,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting at the Awami League’s central political office at 23 Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Tuesday in protest of the heinous series of bombings on 17 August 2005. The event was organized by Dhaka Metropolitan North and South Awami League.
Obaidul Quader questioned why the BNP was silent when there were simultaneous bombings all over the country? “They were silent because they were involved in this incident,” he alleged.
He said many more bombings took place after the 17 August series bombings. Even a few, including a judge, were killed in bomb attacks. Who was behind these? Who helped these communal forces? Those in power at that time supported these communal forces. They thought to erase the spirit of the Liberation War.
The Awami League General Secretary said the state is not safe in the “hands of those” who kill the people of the country, burn the people of the country in the fire. They were “repeatedly tried to assassinate” Sheikh Hasina. The communal attack proves that the “BNP is the reliable source” of communal forces in the country.
Noting that BNP is making jokes with the nation on Khaleda Zia’s birthday, Obaidul Quader said, BNP is making jokes and farces with the nation in the name of Khaleda Zia’s birthday. How a person has six birthdays? he questioned.
“If you have courage, compassion, etiquette – stop joking in the name of birthday,” added Obaidul Quader.
General Secretary Humayun Kabir presided over the function under the chairmanship of Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League President Abu Ahmed Mannafi. Awami League presidium member Abdur Razzak, joint general secretary Dr. Dipu Moni were present as special guests.
