Theft of cows with calves from cattle farms

In Kalapara of Patuakhali, a cow with a calf was stolen from the farm of a cow named Nur Islam Hawladar. A gang of organized thieves stole a red cow from his farm early Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, the farmer’s wife Phulbanu is now almost mad as she could not see Adar’s red cow on the farm. He is going to faint in words. Neighbors are crowding the house to comfort him.

The incident took place at Paschim Rajpara village in Tiakhali union of the upazila. Phulbanu, the wife of a cattle farmer, said, “I named the cow Lal Gai out of love.” The cow is also known as red cow in the village. A month and a half ago, after giving birth, the calf was giving 16 liters of milk per day. Their family was doing quite well with this. But the cow along with the calf was stolen from the farm.

Nur Islam Hawlader, the owner of the cattle farm, said he started the farm about ten years ago after buying a Friesian cow for Rs 60,000. From then on, every night he would go to bed after seeing the cattle farm. In the morning he told his wife that he could not see the red cow with his farm calf. Kalapara Police Station OC Khandaker Mostafizur Rahman said he had not received any complaint in this regard.
