Garment workers are getting extra leave on Eid

On the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, the owners of the garment factories are announcing a holiday from July 16 so that the workers can go home according to the hygiene rules and social distance. Besides government holidays, they are also adding annual leave to the workers. The holy Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on July 21 in the country.

SM Mannan Kochi, senior vice-president of BGMEA, an association of ready-made garment owners, told the media that the situation in Corona in the country was dire. In this situation, the factories are giving extra leave along with the leave announced by the government thinking about the safety of the garment workers. Even then we want the workers to follow the hygiene rules.

He added that the government has announced a three-day holiday on the occasion of Eid. The state minister will hold a meeting at Shram Bhaban in the capital on Tuesday to discuss the holiday in garment factories. Then he will give the final decision in the meeting.
