Army Chief inspects patrol activities in Mymensingh

Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed, OSP, NDU, PSC, today inspected the army patrol activities in Mymensingh district and exchanged greetings with on-duty army personnel there. The Army Chief expressed satisfaction over the role and activities of the Army, Administration and Law Enforcement in the second phase of Operation Coved Shield at Mymensingh Town Hall intersection.
He expressed optimism that Bangladesh Army will always stand by the people and fight the covid-19 epidemic under the directive of the Prime Minister. The Chief of Army Staff was accompanied among others by General Officer Commanding I Training and Doctrine Command Lieutenant General SM Matiur Rahman, OSP, SUP, AFWC, PSC, and Area Commander Ghatail Area Major General Syed Tareq Moyener, AFWC, PSC and Station Commander Mymensingh Station Brigadier General Mahbubur Rahman, AFWC, PSC.
Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed also exchanged views with the Mayor of Mymensingh City Corporation, Divisional Commissioner, BGB Sector Commander, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police during the visit. It is to be noted that the army has been deployed across the country from July 1, 2021 to assist the civil administration and law enforcement agencies in preventing the transmission of COVID-19.
