Human chain in Kalapara in protest of rural electricity bill

Most businesses in the kalapara of the city of Dhaka have been closed for almost two months due to the Corona terror. Even though traders are losing billions of rupees, they are now facing a new financial bill of rural electricity. Electricity customers have been demanding the right bill to avoid this physical bill. The event was organized by the Kalapara Citizen Initiative on Shaheed Surendra Mohan Road in the municipal city at 11 am on Wednesday.
Thousands of people in Kalapara district have been severely damaged in The Corona and Cyclone Ampane but the three-month bill has been collected from the rural electricity office. The electricity department is charging 11 thousand customers five to fifty times the extra bills for not seeing the meter. Speaking at an hour long rally to protest the irregularities, the civic initiative Kalapara’s convener Nasir Attar, senior journalist Mezbahuddin Mannu, comrade Professor Rajeed Islam, Lalua UP Chairman Shaheed Hossain Tapan Trust, Kuakata President Mizanur Rahman Bullet, Daykar Sarkar Pintu etc.
The speakers protested against the frequent loading of rural electricity, the rent of the mitia, the demand charges, the three-month bill collection and the multi-crore withdrawal of crores of rupees from the customers in the name of various bills. Also, in the future, the bill will be delivered to the customer every month.
