Ishwardi launches digital monitoring system to prevent relief misappropriation

Local administration of Pabna’s Ishwardi upazila has introduced a digital monitoring system in order to prevent relief misappropriation in the area during Covid-19 outbreak. The new technology called “Central Server System” was launched yesterday through distribution of special relief among 1,800 ultra-poor people in Ishwardi municipality area, reports our Pabna correspondent quoting Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Sihab Raihan.
The upazila administration implemented the new software, a method of monitoring relief and other food support programmes of the government with the help of information and communication department, the UNO said. “The database of the entire relief work will be inputted into the software so that we can easily check the list of relief seekers through an app,” explained the UNO adding that nobody can get relief twice nor will they be deprived of it. “This digital monitoring system will stop relief misappropriation successfully,” he said. Soon we plan to recommend the system for use across the country after assessing the success rate, the UNO also said.
“The monitoring will be performed through the dashboard centrally. The software will be fast to use. At least one lakh people can use the site simultaneously. Besides, a mobile app is also introduced.” Md Masud Rana, assistant programmer of Information and Communication Department of the upazila said at the launching programme. We can use this program in crisis periods for quick response and use it all around the year to bring the accountability of relief and other social safety net programmes, Masud added.
