Following their battle with COVID-19, Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson are donating their blood and plasma after receiving the confirmation that “antibodies were created” in their bodies due to novel coronavirus.
The matter was confirmed by Tom Hanks by himself while he appeared on NPR’s podcast and shared his and his wife’s latest physical condition. “We are currently fine. My wife Rita’s condition was a little worse than me because she had a very high temperature. So, we were isolated because we would not give it to anyone else,” he shared.

Later, Tom Hanks revealed that they found out that they are carrying “the antibodies”. He added that they have not only been approached for the studies but they volunteered to donate their blood and plasma. “We will be giving it now that hope to work on what I would like to call ‘Hank-ccine’,” he joked. – reports NBC. After being in quarantine for two weeks, they returned to Los Angeles after recover. The couple later decided to donate their blood and plasma.

It is believed that antibodies have been created in their bodies after recovering from coronavirus. As a result, they donated plasma and blood in hope of creating COVID-19 vaccine from their antibodies. “No one asked them to do this. They have made the decision thinking for the welfare of the people,” Tom Hanks said in the NPR’s podcast.
