Bangladesh reports 4 more coronavirus deaths, 503 cases

Four more people died from coronavirus in Bangladesh in the last 24 hours till Friday, taking the death toll in the country to 131. Besides, 503 more people tested positive for coronavirus during the period, raising the number of such cases in the country to 4,689. This is the biggest single-day surge so far in cases since the virus was first detected in Bangladesh on Mar 8.
Additional Director General (Admin) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Nasima Sultana disclosed the latest figures of deaths and infections in a daily online bulletin on coronavirus situation in Dhaka Friday afternoon.
“In the last 24 hours, we’ve carried out tests on 3,686 samples collected from across the country and 503 more patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 4,689. Four more people have died and the total death toll is 131,” she said.
Meanwhile, four more made recovery from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the recovery toll to 112 so far since Bangladesh recorded its first Covid-19 case on March 8.
