7 more coronavirus patients die, 414 test positive in 24hrs: health minister
The death toll now stands at 127, the minister said during a briefing. Four hundred and fourteen have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of infected has reached 4,186. Meanwhile, 16 more have recovered, taking the total number of recoveries to 108, the minister also said. More than 300 Bangladeshi expatriates died due to coronavirus infection around the world, the health minister added.
A total of 3,416 samples were tested in 21 PCR labs across the country since yesterday, which is 10.34 percent higher than the previous day, Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of Directorate General of Health Services, said during the briefing. All of the seven deceased — five male, two female — were from Dhaka.Age-wise, four of them were above 60, two 51-60 and one between 41-50.
Of the total infected patients so far in the country, 45.51 percent are from Dhaka city. Sixty-eight percent of them are male and 32 percent female, Dr Nasima added. So far, people with Covid-19 have been detected in 58 districts of the country, Dr Nasima also said. A total of 123 were put under isolation around the country since yesterday.
