Retailing closed at Karwan Bazar

Retail trade in the capital’s Karwan Bazar has been declared closed. From now on, only wholesalers will be able to trade on a certain time. Police made the decision on Tuesday to prevent coronavirus transmission from the market. Tejgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge Hasnat Khandaker confirmed the issue.

He said retailers would sit on the road in front of the Government Science College. Vegetables and food wholesalers have to finish their activities between 9 pm and 2 am. Fish sellers and stockists will have time for trade from 4 am to 9 am.

The OC said cars would enter the market through the side lane of the CA Bhaban, the front lane of the WASA building and the front lane of Hotel La Vinci. And they will exit the market by the road in front of Petrobangla and TCB building.
