PM announces Tk 5000cr stimulus package for agriculture sector

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today unveiled a Tk 5,000 crore stimulus package with five percent interest rate for the farmers who have been hit hard by the ongoing shutdown amid coronavirus scare. She was holding a videoconference with officials of the districts under Barishal and Khulna divisions.
She joined the videoconference from her official residence Gono Bhaban around 10:00am. Meanwhile, the prime minister has also asked people to celebrate Pahela Baishakh at home with family members.
