Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairperson Khaleda Zia, who was released from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University prison cell Wednesday afternoon, will remain in home quarantine at her Gulshan residence for 14 days. She will remain in home quarantine as the medical board formed for her treatment suggested this in the backdrop of present coronavirus situation.
The suggestion came as she returned home from BSMMU escorted by a huge number of people, BNP vice-chairman vice chairman Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, who accompanied the medical board, told New Age after visiting Khaleda in the evening.
Zahid, also former president of Doctors’ Association of Bangladesh, said that the medical board considered the present situation and decided in favour of home quarantine as Khaleda Zia was 75 years old and was suffering from various diseases, including asthma, which increased risk of coronavirus infection.
