Water cannons to spray disinfectant in Dhaka

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has decided to use its water cannons, usually used to disperse crowds, to spray disinfectants in the capital amid the coronavirus outbreak. Eight water cannons will spray disinfectants twice daily from tomorrow in a bid to ensure the health of city dwellers, said Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of DMP.
The vehicles will be spraying disinfectants from 10:00am to 12:00noon and from 4:00pm to 6:00pm in areas under 50 police stations, he said, adding the spraying will continue until further notice. City dwellers have been asked to cooperate with the initiative.
