Child marriages in Kaliganj are forbidden to send the girl to her husband’s house

The father and uncle of the boy were fined for child marriage in Kadipur village in Kaliganj district of Thedistrict. The girl was also told to stay at her father’s house until she was 18. The fine was imposed by the executive magistrate and Kaliganj Upazila Executive Officer, Subarna Rani Saha, who was the chief magistrate of the district court on Sunday afternoon.
Kaliganj Upazila Executive Officer Subarna Rani Saha said that the girl of Aktar Khan, of Kharail village, was given a child marriage with the son of Noor Islam, a girl from Kadipur village, on Saturday night. The court was conducted on Monday at the boy’s house.
He added that the boy’s father Noor Islam was fined Tk. 1500 and akram Hussain, the daughter’s uncle, was fined Tk. 1500. The girl was also told to stay at her father’s house until she was 18. The other people were present, including S.I. Hanif Mia of Kaliganj.
