UK-returnee with coronavirus symptoms dies in isolation

A UK-returnee, who was put under isolation at a Sylhet hospital with coronavirus symptoms, died early today. The woman, aged around 61, breathed her last at Sylhet Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital around 3:30am, said Civil Surgeon of Sylhet Premanando Mondol.

She returned from London on March 4 and was suffering from fever, cough and breathing problems for the last 10 days, our Sylhet correspondent reports quoting the civil surgeon. The deceased was admitted to the hospital on March 20 and was put in isolation as her condition deteriorated, he added.

A team of Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) was supposed to collect her blood sample today, the civil surgeon said.
